The importance of strengthening the capacity of the Constitutional Court and developing human resources was highlighted by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia

On October 27, 2021, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, President of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) Mr. Chinbat Namjil received H.E. Zafer Ates, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia.

During the meeting, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia Chinbat Namjil noted the good history of cooperation between the Constitutional Courts of the two countries and expressed his goal to further develop and enhance the relations and cooperation within the framework of comprehensive partnership between Mongolia and Turkey. He also emphasized the implementation of the 2017 Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Constitutional Courts. He highlighted the importance of conducting joint research on fundamental constitutional issues, organizing trainings and seminars, writing research papers, establishing a permanent mechanism for the exchange of information and developing cooperation between the Secretariats to strengthen the capacity of the Constitutional Court and develop human resources.

He added that the Turkish Constitutional Court is one of the most prestigious and influential courts in Asia. Turkey is a member of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC), and the Centre for Training and Human Resources Development of the Association is based in Turkey. The staff of the Secretariat of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia regularly participate in the Center's constitutional dispute legal training.

During the meeting, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia requested Ambassador of Turkey to convey the invitation to the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey Zühtü Arslan to pay visit to Mongolia.

In response, Ambassador said, “I’d like to express my gratitude to Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia for welcoming me and I believe that this meeting serves an importance for getting to know Mongolia. Turkey has had friendly relations with Mongolia for many years. We are willing to support and cooperate in all areas. In this context, the development of cooperation between the Constitutional Courts is one of our major goals, and we are eager to cooperate toward its implementation”.
